Very good typical restaurant, not large but with very peculiar and original decorations and furnishings. Given the size of the place, it is highly recommended to place a reservation in advance. They make traditional Milanese food, and other traditional dishes. The quality of the food and of ingredients is good, and they have a huge choice of wines from overall Italy and beyond. The service is very nice and the accommodations are comfortable. Somewhat expensive.

Fantastic cuisine and atmosphere! I visited there at lunch time in sunny April day and had Milanese risotto. You’ll regret the opportunity if you don’t visit.

Very traditional and beautiful place with a soul. Food is excellent and quickly served. Staff are professional and kind, speak great English. As usually in this type of old, traditional restaurants, tables are super squeezed and there is not so much space or privacy. I love it nonetheless.

If you’re seeking an authentic Milanese dining experience, Trattoria Arlati is a true hidden gem that perfectly blends tradition and charm. Tucked away from the tourist hotspots, this cozy establishment feels like a well-kept secret among those who truly appreciate Milan’s culinary heritage. The menu is filled with time-honored regional dishes, prepared with love and a deep respect for tradition, from risotto alla Milanese to osso buco that melts in your mouth. What sets this place apart is its selection of exquisite wines, carefully curated to complement the flavors of each dish. The sommelier’s recommendations are spot on, featuring both local Lombardian labels and a few surprising, lesser-known treasures from Italy’s best vineyards. We were a group of eight, and we absolutely loved everything. The osso buco, beef stew, veal Milanese, and steak tartare were all excellent. The rice was so fantastic that we ordered an extra portion. For dessert, the tiramisu, panna cotta, profiteroles, and apricot tart were all outstanding. Our waiter, Matteo, was incredibly friendly and truly one of the best waiters we’ve met in Milan.

We came here at the recommendation of a friend-of-a-friend and wow are we glad we did! The food was outstanding — we had fava beans & salame to start, followed by ricotta+spinach tortelloni, and then by slow-cooked veal dishes (osso bucco & the daily special) one of which was accompanied by the crispy saffron rice which was a delight of both flavor and texture. One of us also had the classic tomato+basil spaghetti and two days later we are still wondering how something so simple can be so good. We had an excellent bottle of local red that was quite moderately priced. For dessert three of us shared a nice tiramisu and the house specialty: a warm slice of panettone (which they make year ‘round, not just at Christmastime) topped with the same custard they use in their tiramisu. Atmosphere is intimate and charming; decor is eclectic. This restaurant is off-the-beaten-path but absolutely worth going out of your way for.

Great restaurant with a unique style that makes it unforgettable. All the dishes were good and would strongly recommend the ossobuco with the Milanese risoto. Get the house wine and make a reservation (phone only)
